Coucou innocent

Kavya Menon just wanted to install a sanitary pad dispenser in the girls’ bathroom in her College, when she discovered that students were afraid to talk about menstruations. This subject is taboo and she thought that was not right, especially in this situation, because there are medical student and they learn about it. So, they should be allowed and free to talk about it openly.
A groups of core membres of the college’s literary club decided to organize a competition with haiku and poems about menstruations.
Entries for the competition arrived from across the country. They got 87 in total.
This competition is the first step for the freedom of expression. Girls are ashamed to talk about their periods. Some of them are deprived of activities, or even of school ! Some others have to stay locked in their room, with no one allowed to touch them.
In addition to this, menstrual health is very neglected in India. Most of the women use reusable rag instead of sanitary pads or tampons. Girls from poor families don't even know how to use it.
Reading poems about menstruation is a way to show all these girls that menstruations are normales. Talk about it publicly can help girls to gain confidence, and maybe allow to improve the statistics of menstrual hygiene.
As a future doctor, Kavya Menon know it is her role to talk about it, and to break the taboo.

This text is a account from a transgender guy, born with typical female anatomy. With his partner, he decided to have a baby and became pregnant. If his pregnant belly wasn't a problem, announcing the arrival of a little one, the fear of the labour was one. Can he manage the labour, and how his body will react ? Will it open to let the baby out ?
He consult a therapist, who gave him some exercices to visualize birth in a positive manner and convinced him to talk with his midwives about his fear. It doesn't help and the day of childbirth, he was terrified. The labour went very long and the pain increased. Fortunately, his doula gived him a mantra and each time he repeated "I an opening", his body opened for let the baby out, in fine health.
Now, he even had a second child, whom he gave birth alone, without medical assistance.

School is a source of social pressure and stress for a lot of children. David S. Yeager's study found a technique to help them to handle it. A very simple technique, which consist to instill a simple message : people can change. Le principe is to learn young people that nobody is doomed to stay like he is forever. Everybody change, themselfs, and others. A mean kid can become nice, and a weak kid can become stronger.
At the beginning of the year, students read articles describing how personality can change and anecdotes written by seniors about school. Then they can share their own advice to help younger. There is not adult involved, kids persuade other kids.
The study reveal that students who received this intervention have better abilities to manage the stresses and better grades.

The dog's smell is the most effective in the world. Everything is wrought of smells, et we cannot only imagine how much they can recognize.
By smell alone, dogs can find drugs, illegal importation of animals or specific objects if they are trained for. Diabetic people have dogs detecting falling glucose levels, and others even have sniffed out cancer before any diagnostic. The dog's sniff is a unique tool.
Especially, the dog detect us. The humans. Their owner. The smell of person is so strong that dogs can follow it over time, even after an explosion or an exposure to water.
To a dog, you are your scent. The dog knows if you move, only in smelling, and is able to smell time passing according the evolution of the scents around.
Dogs smell the world, and it's a wonderful and powerful ability.

A study suggest that girls and boys could be affected differently by traumatic event. A part of the brain, the insula, would react by opposite way : it become smaller than usual in girls and larger in boys. That could explain why girls are more developing post-traumatic stress disorder, which is the psychological effect of a traumatic event. This difference is important to work with traumatised people and help them.

(il en manque trois mais je les ai pas encore écrits fail )
(notez comme les résumés deviennent de plus en plus courts en fonction de mon ras-le-bol)

A study suggests that girls and boys could be affected differently by traumatic events. A part of the brain, the insula, would react oppositely: it becomes smaller than usual in girls, but larger in boys. That could explain why girls tend more to develop post-traumatic stress disorder, which is the psychological effect of a traumatic event. This difference will most likely play an important role in working with traumatized people to help them out and treat them.

With love,

Mon anglais étant ce qu'il est, j'ai surement laissé des fautes, (en espérant ne pas en avoir recréé d'autres /pan). mais voilà, fail

In addition to this, menstrual health is very neglected in India. Most of the women use reusable rags instead of sanitary pads or tampons (moi j'utilise pas de tampons). Girls from poor families don't even know how to use them.
